Game changer

After 50 years of sharing the ground with ants i can now relax around the campsite. If I'm carrying a 15kg pack this represents 3% of the weight and a similar amount of the volume. That's easy to live with.

relief and relax

The chairs were a game changer for both the full 'Larapinta' and the 6 day 'Great Carnarvon Walk'

Comfortable chair

Quite good except in soft ground when the legs can dig in. Tends to lay back a lot unless you keep your feet extended. A nice level of comfort and very light to carry.

Chair Zero

Haven't used it on a trip yet. Assembled it at home and it looks good, looking forward to using it and with the appropriate care I'm sure it will be great on the next walk.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What you really need is a good place to rest when hiking. A good rest will help restore your energy and contribute to the enjoyment of the return trip or tomorrow's hike. A chair isn't a luxury item if it contributes to increased stamina and enjoyment.

Chair Zero is perfect for carrying on two feet. It's the lightest portable chair Helinox makes. The trade-off is some comfort – the seat lacks the mesh ventilation panels of Chair One and some people find it a little tight around the hips. Chair Zero also sits a little lower to the ground than Chair One. If you don't mind carrying the extra weight, Chair One is the perfect all-rounder. However when weight is critical, Chair Zero is the only way to go!

The seat fabric on Chair Zero was chosen to provide a comfortable experience whilst saving as much weight as possible. The lightweight fabric features non-stretch silver thread that forms a supportive framework.

To save weight, we didn't include a carry strap or loops on Chair Zero's bag. The chair is small enough to fit inside a pack or can be strapped to the outside.

Chair Zero supports 265 pounds or 120 kilograms.

The lowest part of Chair Zero's seat is approximately 9 inches or 23 cm off the ground.

At Helinox we refer to 'low profile' chairs as those that sit you closer to the ground. A lower seated height is one of the ways we save weight in models like Chair Zero and Chair One. We also offer Sunset Chair and Savanna Chair for those that prefer a higher seat.

Seats and carry bags should be hand washed in warm water using a mild detergent. Seats and carry bags are not machine washable. Ensure fabric is completely dry before packing away for storage.

Your chair should be stored in its original carry bag in a dry location. Always ensure the chair is completely dry before placing into storage. Chairs should never be stored damp or wet.

Always start by fitting the seat to the upper rear poles. Then lay the chair on its back. Use your body weight to flex the lower seat poles into the pockets. Brand new seats can be a little tight but don't worry, they will stretch slightly with use.

All Helinox frames are anodized to protect against corrosion. However the anodized coating will be fighting a losing battle if you pack your chair away wet and leave it that way. So always ensure your chair is completely dry before storing it. If the frame is exposed to salt water, always rinse with fresh water and leave to dry before packing away for storage.

Yes! Shock-cord that gets damaged can be replaced to keep your Helinox chair active for many years.

We sell a number of accessories such as Ball Feet and Ground Sheets that prevent chair legs sinking in soft ground.

Helinox frames are made from an advanced high-tech aluminium alloy that offers the perfect blend of strength and minimal weight. This special alloy is a higher specification than aircraft-grade aluminium and goes through over 70 production processes from raw billet to finished pole section.

Hubs are made from high-strength, fibre-reinforced Nylon 66.

All Helinox products are backed by a 5 Year Warranty.
