Perfect Guest Bed

I have not even used this for outdoors yet but it makes for the perfect guest bed and then stows away in a small space. I am done with aero beds!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Lite Cot is designed primarily for backpacking where weight is of critical importance. It features press-fit leg frames that are different to Cot One's lever lock frames. The bed tension level on Cot One is higher than Lite Cot for this reason.

The innovative levers on Cot One provide an easy way to tension the bed surface without the need for bulky diagonal braces. The levers lock into place creating a taunt, even sleeping surface.

Cot One is 74.5 x 26.5 inches or 190 x 68 cm and Cot One Long is 82.5 x 26.5 inches or 210 x 68 cm.

Cot One models each support 320 pounds or 145 kilograms.

Cot One's bed surface is 6.3 inches or 16 cm off the ground. This increases to 15 inches or 38 cm with the optional extension leg kit.

If this happens, you've likely assembled the cross-bar upside down. Take note of the 'This Side Up' marking on the cross-bar – this should point to the sky when the cot is assembled. The leg frame should arch up in the middle with the nylon hubs as the lowest parts of the frame.

Helinox offers Leg Extension kits and a self-inflating insulated pad that replaces the standard bed fabric (does not fit Cot One Long).

No, Leg Extensions must be purchased separately. Please note that Lite Cot is not compatible with leg extensions.

Yes, with a little clever packing, the leg extensions can be made to fit in the cot carry bag.

To care for your cot and get the best sleep, the cot should be used on even ground. This may require careful placement or adding some extra padding under one or more legs.

Fabric parts should be hand washed in warm water using a mild detergent. Bed fabrics and carry bags are not machine washable. Ensure fabric is completely dry before packing away for storage.

Your cot should be stored in its original carry bag in a horizontal position in s dry location. Always ensure the cot is completely dry before placing into storage. Cots should never be stored damp or wet. Note that when folded into the carry bag, leg frames have exposed shock cord that be damaged if the bag is dropped on its end.

Many people report that the comfort level is significantly higher than an air mattress. A cot will get you up off the ground, away from unhealthy dampness and crawling critters. When using the optional extension legs, your cot will provide additional storage space underneath.

Yes, that can possibly happen. If your tent is on hard ground and you toss and turn during the night, the resulting movement of the cot feet on the tent floor can cause damage. In this situation it is worth placing some extra padding between the cot and the tent floor.

Not normally, but this depends on personal preference and climate. Some people with a slim build find the extra padding of self-inflating mattress adds to the comfort level. A mattress can also be used in cold climates to assist with insulation. Alternatively the optional self-inflating insulated pad can be used for Cot One.

If purchasing a mattress pad for use with your cot, anything between the full width of the cot and up to 3-4 inches narrower than the full width will work.

Yes! Shock-cord that gets damaged can be replaced to keep your Helinox cot active for many years.
